10W Florita, now a tropical storm, heads for Luzon – 10am PHT August 22 – Video Update

0

Tropical Depression Florita was designated 10W by the JTWC earlier, and looks to be intensifying slowly under some strong wind shear. Despite the upgrade to a tropical storm, the impacts have not changed – heavy rainfall remains the primary threat to the Philippines. Several inches of rainfall look likely from the Manila metro northward. After passing the Philippines, the tropical cyclone looks to intensify, and could become a typhoon on approach to Southeastern China. The best indication at the moment suggests a second landfall just to the east of Hong Kong later in the week.
