Cyclone Yakecan Turning Away From Brazil

0

An improbable scenario has transpired to bring us Cyclone Yakecan, which grazed the coast of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina in the last 24 hours, and is starting to move away from land. The storm will continue to turn away, and soon accelerate well out to sea, and then turn post-tropical. Yakecan has caused significant impacts on land, with vast temperature differences on land and at sea. The storm itself is surviving on sea surface temperatures of around 19 degrees celsius, well below the average 26 degree threshold needed to sustain typical tropical cyclones.
