Major Hurricane Darby rapidly intensifying in the Pacific
Hurricane Darby has embarked on an audacious intensification phase which has already brought it up from a mere tropical storm 24 hours ago to a major hurricane this morning, with the storm likely headed for Category 4 status later today. Thankfully for land interests, Darby is over 2,000 miles out to sea, and is expected to die off well before reaching the Hawaiian islands, which its remnants will pass to the south of. In the meantime though, Darby is exhibiting a fantastic satellite appearance, with decent cloud tops surrounding a very clear symmetric eye. With satellite estimates already supporting Category 4 status, an upgrade is likely later today if its appearance holds. Watch our latest update with the link below!
