Typhoon Malakas was the first named storm and the first typhoon of the 2022 Western Pacific Typhoon Season. Malakas managed to reach a peak of 130mph, capable of a Category 4 typhoon, whilst moving on high latitudes. Fortunately, no major landmass was affected by this system.
