Arthur continues to produce large areas of shower and thunderstorm activity east and the north of the center, with its convection entirely sheared. However, it is clear that this system is strengthening under the aid of baroclinity, which would mean that extratropical transition is continuing. Latest microwave pass indicates that this system continues to have its intermittent convection located to the north and east of the center, with dry air to the south.
