Severe Tropical Cyclone Harold continues southeast, accelerating as it enters the mid-latitudes, where it is expected to weaken even further ahead of deteriorating conditions. This system continues to weaken quickly as wind shear has finally placed a stop sign to Harold. Latest microwave pass indicates that this system has lost all organization and its eyewall with the remnant convection displaced heavily to the southern periphery. Metservice New Zealand predicts that this system is likely to weaken slowly from a Category 3 Severe Tropical Cyclone.
